Sandy and the Starwise Astrological Forecast
for November 2012
(All specific times given are for Eastern Time)
I am writing this forecast today on Halloween, one of the sacred pagan days of ceremony, and a day known for scariness as we move into the last days before the American Presidential Election.
I am in Atlanta, Georgia now. On Sunday night I was in the mountains of North Georgia in an all night Peruvian Ceremony. All through the night it was cold and very windy. We were on the fringes of the hurricane moving north of us.
Clearly, one effect of this storm was to force all of the hatred and rancor of the election campaigns to, literally, chill.
I am hesitant however to diagnose weather events as evidence of motives from ‘higher planes’ as Fundamentalist preachers are prone to do. I remember Saturday Night Live doing a skit after Pat Robertson warned Orlando, Florida of possible hurricanes after they allowed a rainbow coalition gay pride parade to take place there. The SNL skit was a national ‘Christian Weather Report,’ and it was quite funny.
And yet I believe in what esoterically are termed elemental or nature spirits, the salamanders, spirits of fire, sylphs of air, undines of water, and gnomes of earth.
I also couldn’t help noticing last summer during the drought hitting much of the nation that, if you overlaid a map of the states most affected by the dryness and heat, on a map of the states most likely to turn red in the election, it was like a hand in a glove. I’ve been listening a bit to right wing ‘Scream radio’ here in Atlanta, and the anger and hatred spewed there is bound to have some ‘heating’ effect.
Now, as to why this intense storm had to hit New Jersey and New York, I can’t claim to say. It is the densest populated area in the country. But it is also the bluest, most Democratic section of the East Coast that such a storm could hit. To me, this takes the political turmoil, at least locally, out of the question. It allows the President to be Presidential without being more vulnerable to being accused of ‘campaigning.’
I also think it is a positive situation for undecided voters to be in a position of compassion for their Democratic brothers and sisters in blue states of New Jersey and New York. The hit that they have taken there may have given Obama back the Presidency.
As far as predicting who is going to win the election I am, personally for now, stepping out of that game. We will find out soon enough, maybe.
As I have said in the past, Mercury stands still, and then goes retrograde on Election Day. The last time that happened is when the Bush/Gore election took place in 2000. Might we once again wake up without knowing the winner?
I do have an Astrological observation which I have used to have a sense of Obama winning the election, although I can see it being relevant the other way as well.
When I do an Astrological Natal Chart reading I always look at your Progressed Sun, the movement of your identity from birth to age 90. To me this is the best indication of the movement of your identity and consciousness through the Astrological wheel.
Right now Obama’s progressed Sun is around 2 degrees of Libra, a sign of partnership, marriage, and diplomacy. It is within a degree of exact conjunction to the U.S. Libran Mid-Heaven, or the way we ‘present’ ourselves to the world.
Obama’s progressed identity is now moving through the 10th House of the U.S.; house of work, career, and ‘role’ in the world. I have previously used this to give myself a sense that Obama would win the election. Based on the fact that his current place in consciousness is linked to a harmonious, diplomatic, Libran interaction with the rest of the world.
The fact that Obama’s Progressed Sun will be in that house for many years made me feel that he would be an on-going presence which would create a legacy for this nation lasting many years.
The other way this could be viewed, however, is, if we elect Mitt Romney, the legacy will be of the sense of what world events would have incurred under Obama’s Presidency if he had been elected instead of what will ensue under Romney.....
Starwise Forecast for November 2012
We enter November three days after the peaking Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Taurus Full Moon.
Days of Month
1- 3 – Venus opposes Uranus on the 1st and squares Pluto on the third, again a personal, in this case, emotional, activation of the intensity of the on-going deeper collective transformation of the Uranus/Pluto Square.
6 – As mentioned above, on this Election Day, as in 2000, Mercury stations turning retrograde, until the 27th.
8 – Venus in Libra harmonizes with Jupiter in Gemini. The ideal emotional/partnering energy of Venus in Libra given expansive, optimistic, enthusiasm for communication with Jupiter in Gemini.
10 – Neptune stands still turning direct, so now the deeper emotional, collectively unconscious Piscean waters brings the being and movement of the Neptunian God or goddess of the sea into more conscious awareness.
13 – A potent, rather intense day. It is the New Moon, Sun/Moon conjunction in Scorpio along with an eclipse of the Sun occurring at 2:05 pm on the Pacific West Coast.
On the same day Mercury squares Neptune just before it goes back into Scorpio until December 11th.
Feels like deep secrets, unconscious motives, assessments of the purity of your desires and your ability or inability to mentally assess and communicate that is the theme on this day and the keynotes for the next lunar month.
16 – Mars moves out of feisty Sagittarius into hard working Capricorn. Maybe the fallout from the election will start to subside and we, and the government, can actually get something done.
17 – Mars in Capricorn harmonizes with Neptune in Pisces. That hard working Mars can move forward with faith and compassion and perhaps some inspired imagination.
21 – The Sun moves into the month of feisty Sagittarius, but then squares mystical Neptune in the emotional waters of Pisces. Newfound enthusiasm can be inspired to liberate from past pains, but be careful to not create more pain in your efforts to do so.
On the same day Venus moves out of harmonious Libra into emotional, desirous Scorpio, upping the emotional deepness of the day.
22 – Venus in Scorpio harmonizes with Neptune in Pisces, softening, healing the Sagittarius/Pisces tension of the day before. Maybe today’s Thanksgiving get together will be more harmonious than we were anticipating the day before!
23 – 27 – Mars in Capricorn squares Uranus in Aries on the 23rd, and then connects to the Pluto/Uranus square by conjuncting Pluto in Capricorn on the 27th. Again, a personal planet activating the on-going Pluto/Uranus tension, this time with a very hard-working, ambitious Mars in Capricorn trying to upset the cart of old patterns and structures.
24 – In the midst of this Mars activation Mars harmonizes with Saturn in Scorpio, some hard work on the need to limit and discipline desires. Maybe Congress will work on the budget to avoid the ‘financial cliff’ at the end of the year.
26 – Mercury goes direct, facilitating clearer communications.
Venus conjuncts Saturn in Scorpio, emotional alignment with the need for discipline and restriction of desires.
28 – Full Moon, Sun in Sagittarius, Moon in Gemini opposition, with a Lunar Eclipse. So two eclipses this month, one Solar and one Lunar, re-booting conscious and unconscious programs. This one peaking between Sagittarian beliefs and enthusiasms and Geminian communications and criticisms.
On the same day Venus in Scorpio harmonizes with Pluto in Capricorn, emotional desires being willing to be assessed by and aligned with deeper scrutinies and currents of transformations of core structures in the deeper levels of reality.
