Sandy and the Starwise Astrological Forecast
for January 2013(All specific times given are for Eastern Time)
We enter the New Year with a waning Moon, the New Moon occurring on the 11th.
Days of Month
3-6 – Mercury in serious Capricorn enters into the Pluto/Uranus square beginning with a square to Uranus on the 3rd, which could create some mental/communicative tension between serious entrenched attitudes and revolutionary agents of change that want to overthrow the apple cart of those serious entrenched attitudes.
On the 6th Mercury joins with Pluto in Capricorn and harmonizes with Saturn, ruler of Capricorn. So after the flare-ups of the 3rd there could be some deep thinking serious, responsible dedication to the profound transformations that need to be made.
4 – In the midst of that Mercurial engagement with Uranus, Pluto and Saturn, Mars in Aquarius trines, harmonizes with Jupiter in Gemini, so there will be some powerful enthusiasm to expand the boundaries of what can be said and understood. All in all a mentally charged weekend, even with a waning Moon.
7 – Mars squares Saturn so the enthusiasm of the weekend can ‘hit the wall’ on Monday. Test the limits, but accept we have to have limits.
8,9 – Venus leaves feisty Sagittarius and enters Capricorn, adding to the serious theme of things. On the 9th, however, Venus harmonizes with Neptune in Pisces, so that serious, constrained, but loyal emotional quality of Venus in Capricorn will feel comfortable opening to a sensitive, compassionate, mystical quality of Neptune in Pisces.
12 – 17 – That constrained but loyal Venus in Capricorn enters into engagement with the Pluto/Uranus Square, first squaring the Uranus in Aries. Entrenched, protective emotional stances may be challenged to rip open to new possibilities by engaging with the revolutionary, feisty energies of Uranus in Aries.
On the 16th Venus conjuncts the Pluto in Capricorn and harmonizes with Saturn on the 17th. So again, as with Mercury earlier, after the emotional flare-ups on the 12th there can be deep, serious, responsible dedication to the emotional transformations that need to be made, or how we feel about the transformations already taking place.
18,19 – On the 18th the Sun conjuncts Mercury in Capricorn just before Mercury goes into Aquarius. The Sun goes into the month of Aquarius on the 19th. Feels like a curious carry-over, ‘cusping’ of identity and communications bridging the earthy serious, responsible energies of Capricorn and the airy, mental, humanitarian energies of Aquarius.
22 – A great day to confidently communicate your unique, perhaps revolutionary visions as Mercury in Aquarius harmonizes with both Uranus and Jupiter on the same day.
24, 25 – The Sun in Aquarius enters into the same confident, revolutionary enthusiasm as it also harmonizes with Uranus and Jupiter on the same day, except Mercury in Aquarius will also be squaring Saturn on the 25th, so some mental restraints and restrictions will have to be dealt with at the same time
26 – The Sun in Aquarius/Moon in Leo Full Moon opposition. The polarity between the group consciousness and the leadership potential of Leo peaks on this day
30 – Jupiter stands still and turns direct so the confidence, optimism and boundary expansive potential to Jupiter will be more available.
The Sun in Aquarius also squares Saturn in Scorpio on this day. The idealistic, humanitarian group consciousness of Aquarius must deal with and accept the responsible limits of individual desires, something which makes me glad I won’t be a member of Congress at this time!
