The Beginning of the Aquarian Age Last Month
and the Starwise Astrological Forecast
for March 2011
(All specific times given are for Eastern Time)
Although I am happy to present my descriptions of the Astrological ‘’weather’ coming our way each month, I find it much more engaging and interesting to observe the way in which that weather affected nations and individuals as it blew through.
For example we began the month of February on the 2nd with a Sun/Moon New Moon conjunction in Aquarius of which I wrote:
New Moon, Sun/Moon conjunction in Aquarius, the sign of collective human love and brother/sisterhood. A good lunar month for what the world is witnessing n Egypt and they themselves are experiencing in Egypt.
This led up to the Full Moon on the 18th of which I wrote:
17/18 – The Full Moon, Sun/Moon conjunction in the last degrees of Aquarius/Leo conjuncts and opposes Neptune (which rules Pisces) just before the Sun moves into the month of Pisces later that day. Seems a bit intense, feeling like some archetypal performance of the greater collective Piscean Age moving into the Aquarian Age cusp we are on now. s
During this build up to the Full Moon we saw the fall of Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak. On the 17th, the day before the peak of the Full Moon, the protests in Libya began.
While observing all of this I came to the following insight, which I wanted to share briefly at the beginning of this month’s forecast.
The Full Moon peak of this rising wave of liberation and freedom was in the last degrees of Leo and Aquarius. As we are now at the cusp of the Aquarian Age, and the movement of the Astrological Ages goes backwards, the last degree of Aquarius is actually the first degree of the approaching Aquarian Age.
I have written before how the Piscean Age was actually a Piscean/Virgo polarizing energy of emotional spirituality vs. scientific rationalism, and a challenge to reconcile and integrate the two.
In the same manner, we are now entering the Aquarian/Leo Age of polarity, i.e. Aquarian group consciousness vs. individual leadership, which, again, will need to be reconciled and integrated.
What we have been witnessing throughout the Middle East is the awareness that, in this coming New Age, the Leo leader can no longer selfishly dominate the freedom and brotherly love of the group. They will need to be in harmony and mutually serve each other.
Of course this can also relate to the Leo ‘leader,’ the Governor in Wisconsin, trying to destroy the collective bargaining strength of the public workers there as well.
During February we had the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Neptune, and at the New Moon, the Moon, all in Aquarius, hence the rapid communication and trust in this new Aquarian Energy and the power of group consciousness then united with no clear leader even being necessary or useful to the purity of the action.
On the 18th, the day after the Libyan protests began, the Sun went into Pisces, and the tone of this rebellion immediately involved more pain and suffering and fear. Mercury went into Pisces on the 21st, Mars into Pisces on the 22nd, and later in March, Venus will go into Pisces.
We could probably look at Gaddafi’s and Libya’s charts and see why their dharma is playing out differently.
Nonetheless, Pisces is more emotional and may involve sadness and suffering, but the antidote is a transmutation of sadness and victimhood into compassion, forgiveness and spiritual surrender.
The daily details for March will follow shortly, but I encourage us all to feel the pain that is there, individually and collectively, and soften it with compassionate action.
Later in March, fast moving players, the Sun and Mercury, shift into dynamic, willful Aries, joining Jupiter who has been there since January 22nd. But on the 11th, Uranus, a slow moving major player, goes into Aries as well for about seven years. Things are likely to heat up, perhaps even more of Pisces suffering inspiring an Aries action we may describe as: “We ain’t gonna take it anymore!”

March, 2011
We enter March in the last days of the Waning Moon.
Days of Month
1 – Venus goes from serious, responsible Capricorn into airy, somewhat detached, Aquarius until the 27th, harmonizing with the quirky Aquarian ruler, Uranus, on this same day.
3 – Mars in emotional Pisces, but harmonizing with the deeper institutional transformation of Pluto in Capricorn.
4 – Sun/Moon, New Moon conjunction in the middle of Pisces, particularly poignant for anyone born around the birthdates of March 4, June 3, September 5, or December 5th. Feeling the feelings, consciously and unconsciously, with whatever that entails for the intelligence of Gemini and Virgo, and the freedom and enthusiasm of Sagittarius.
9 – Intelligent, communicating Mercury conjuncts with impulsive, rupturing, freedom loving Uranus, and goes into Aries the same day for an additional kick.
11 – Uranus goes into Aries, hence the end of the Uranus in Pisces era. Now about seven years for everyone to embrace the courage ot be the unique being you are, i.e. liberate and express your ‘inner Hippie.’
13 – Intellectually feisty Mercury in Aries in tension with dying, institutional ‘powers that be’ of Pluto in Capricorn.
14 – Venus in Aquarius harmonizes with Saturn in Libra, an easy feeling of what is fair and responsible.
15 – Intelligent, communicating Mercury joins with aspirational Jupiter in dynamic, active Aries. A good day to “Go for it!”
18 – Intellectually feisty Mercury in Aries in tension with the restrictive responsibility of relationships of Saturn in Libra.
19 – Sun in Pisces opposite Moon in Virgo Full Moon. The conscious emotional vulnerability having to integrate the unconscious analytics and criticisms so they can work together and we don’t project one or the other on someone or something else.
20/21 – Spring Equinox, Sun moves over the Equator and into a month of Aries Spring renewal and dynamism, and joins with iconoclastic Uranus the next day.
26/27 – Venus joins with Neptune in Aquarius, emotional clarity, faith and surrender. Venus goes into Pisces the next day until April 20th, so we will still have to feel the feelings.
28 – Two rather large tensions today. The Sun in feisty Aries at odds with the deep underworld transformations and manipulations of Pluto in Capricorn.
Jupiter also feeling enthusiastic in Aries, at odds with the restrictive, responsibility and duty towards fairness in relationships of Saturn in Libra.
My refrain: Embrace and integrate. Don’t project and disintegrate.
30 – Mercury goes backwards; retrograde, until April 23rd, going back over what he’s been up to lately.
April Fools Day – No exact aspects on this day.
Be a fool, make it up however you want.
Blessings,
