Dear Friends and Clients,
This newsletter was supposed to be simply an announcement that a lecture which I gave here in Seattle last Tuesday is now available as an audio file on the home page of my website: (www.SpiritualCompany.com). The lecture was entitled: ‘The End of the Mayan Calendar and Beyond: An Astrological View.’
I shared my view and understanding of the upcoming end of the Mayan Calendar, as well as the larger Astrological picture happening now and in the years ahead, along with the impact of those Astrological factors on the charts of the U.S. and President Obama, and ended with Hilarion’s view of the present and upcoming years on the planet.
When I heard the news about the horrible tragedy on Friday, I didn’t intend to add some of my own commentary as I have with these types of events in the past.
Upon waking this morning, however, some thoughts came to me which I thought I would share.
Before writing down those thoughts, I did do a Google search for Adam Lanza’s birth date, April 22, 1992, and saw what could be expected: the Pluto/Uranus square hitting on a major line of tension in his chart, a Mercury in Aries square to his Moon in Capricorn.
Adam Lanza has been described as very intelligent, even genius, but also as a loner, quiet, withdrawn, with some kind of learning disability, and possibly functioning somewhere on the autistic spectrum.
This is what Hilarion says about his Moon in Capricorn:
Capricorn Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of limitation, duty, illness and restriction. The Moon in this sign shows, regardless of aspects to other planets, that the early home experience was characterized by a sense of restriction and limitation. It may have been an emotional coldness or distance which pervaded the early experience, or again, it could have entailed the absence of one of the parent figures. Possibly the early assumption of responsibilities and duties gave to the child his serious and sometimes melancholic view of life. In the home there would have been little laughter, and the adult would look back upon his early years somewhat the way many of the Dickens characters do, as full of hard burdens and un lighted by any gleam of love or lightness. The great test for the Moon in Capricorn is to rise above the dismal home-model he was shown in his own early experience and create a loving hearth where burdens can be set aside and the heart uplifted. It is perhaps too much to expect joy and laughter to ring constantly through the home of the Moon in Capricorn, since these people as children rarely really learn to laugh, but even this can be achieved if enough effort is expended.
And this is what Hilarion says about Mercury in Aries:
Aries Here the impulsiveness and need for control will be found in the mental characteristics of the individual. Considerable mental energy will be present which can be put to good use once the person learns to control the mind, to keep it in a single channel long enough to accomplish something. The basic lesson here is to achieve mental control.
So Adam Lanza was living with these two energies at odds with, in tension with each other, a feisty, difficult to control mental energy, and a rather emotionally heavy childhood atmosphere.
Uranus had been conjuncting the Mercury, urging it to break free. The day before Adam Lanza’s attacks Uranus had stationed moving direct in forward motion, always a potent time.
The Uranus was moving in to square his Capricorn Moon, urging a freedom from that childhood emotional heaviness.
Pluto had been squaring the feisty Mercury in Aries in recent times, perhaps deeply pressuring that Mercury in Aries dynamic mental energy with an unavoidable, fated feeling of Plutonian manipulation and control reflecting as his lack of ability to find a satisfying expression of the Mercurial energy and intelligence.
At the same time Pluto was conjuncting the Capricorn Moon, forcing him to look deeply at and feel that heaviness and isolation of his childhood, with perhaps the feeling that there was no way to ever escape this Plutonian, fated sentence, which at age 20 is going to be rather frightening.
I believe he saw his only way to break free was to break out. Perhaps he did so previously with violent video games, but this was no longer enough. He went back to the archetypal ‘scene of the crime,’ the school where he was first diagnosed with a learning disability, resulting in eventually being taken out of the school and ‘home-schooled,’’ likely leading to some further social alienation in his case. (Note: This doesn’t apply to everyone who is home-schooled)
I believe this was the scenario which he viewed as the original archetypal source of his individual insecurities and failures, his mother and the school, hence they were what had to be destroyed to break free.
I am finishing up the final editing/proofing of the EBook edition of Hilarion’s Astrology Plus, which I plan to launch before Christmas. But I have been thinking how valuable it would have been if Adam Lanza, and his parents had had the insights which Astrology, and especially Hilarion Astrology could have provided. There would have been a much better chance for him to deal with these challenges in such a way that was not so destructive to himself and others.
In my utopian vision I enjoy imagining a world where these kinds of insights are commonly accepted and benefitted from.
Having looked at what this may have entailed for Adam Lanza, the question remains: What is the message for the greater collective?
Obviously, the frequency of this kind of insane violence is increasing. In the Aurora theater shooting I pointed out that a decreasing level of safety seems to be occurring.
Previously, if you weren’t in a college, or high school or the military you were relatively safe. Then if you were watching a Batman movie in a theater you were no longer safe.
Now we are facing such a deeper level of suffering innocence. 20 six or seven year olds killed by three to eleven bullets each.
One father expressed how his daughter was supposed to play an angel in the Nativity play. Now she is in heaven as an angel. Indeed the message of the innocence of the child, an innocence which exists before the societal, family, personal negative ‘pain-body’, as Eckardt Tolle calls it, descends and possesses us, is where we are now having to look, and remember, and allow that to take us out of our own adult critical self-absorbed negativities to that time of innocence.
The other message I feel is in regard to the six teachers and school officials who died, some while courageously trying to protect their young students.
In my view, teachers have been getting a pretty bad rap in recent years, whether it is all the testing to ferret out underperforming teachers, or the attacks on their unions and collective bargaining power.
It had been pointed out to me years ago that teachers in Switzerland earn as much as people working in the corporate world. I personally feel that we have morally skewed values in this society when we look at the difference in pay scale between the people who help to raise and educate our children and investment bankers.
I am really sorry that these teachers had to die in this way. But I do hope that their sacrifice can perhaps refocus our view and appreciation of the jobs that they do.
See you on the other side of the ‘End of the World.’
Blessings,
Steffan Vanel
